The suspect was shot multiple times. We are getting word that that suspect, as of now, is still alive. Again, two officers hit by gunfire. One in the bull lest resistant vest. We mentioned commissioner bratton arriving on the scene. He visited the injured officers at the hospital. He has now arrived here and getting an update from the officers at the scene. The school tells us grief counselors have been on site for anyone who needs to talk about the tragedy. The principal visited nuguyennguyens classes. According to one of the schools coaches, track practice had just started when a little before 3 cloorx tristan collapsed while jogging on the track. Another coach ran over quickly started cpr on hip. Paramedics eventually took over. Transported him to the hospital where he was declared dead. The first coach tells us nguyen had a history of asthma but its not clear what role if any that played in the death of the student who was well liked throughout the school. Over social media, everybody was being so respectful, kind and paying respect to the family and its such a great way to see the school come together and bond over such a terrible tragedy.
