Tonight, the manhunt is still on. This was the scene of the mangled cars and debris that police say a driver ran from early this morning after he slammed his car into another. Killing one woman inside. Wow thats crazy. I hope they do find the guy. Nobody deserves that for a car wreck. Brianne d. C. Police say it happened after midnight along suitland parkway. Authorities tell abc7 the driver of this volvo was speeding toward the city when he struck this chrysler trying to make a left turn on first sterling avenue. When police got on scene the driver was gone. Police say one of the two passengers in that volvo also tried to flee. He didnt make it far because of the injuries. He was stopped. He had a weapon. Placed under arrest. Brianne the four people inside the chrysler were trapped. A passenger yet to be identified died at the hospital. This is a big win for johnson today. No question about it. Markeys johnson says he was ecstatic when he found out the charges would be dropped. He said this has weighed heavily on him the past several months. Now, this situation is over with. He just finished his third year at uva. 20 years old, walking into the courthouse this morning just after 9 15, alongside his attorney. This hearing lasted only about a minute or two. Dave chapman told the judge what he announced last night in a press release that he wanted to drop the charges against johnson and use the situation as an opportunity to improve relations between citizens and law enforcement.
