DAVAO CITY - The supposed vaccination rollout for children aged 5 to 11 years old scheduled for February 7 has been postponed, the Davao City Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Task Force announced Friday. In a radio interview, Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the Davao City Covid-19 Task Force, said the postponement was due to the delay in the arrival of the pediatric Pfizer vaccines. "The Department of Health (DOH) attributed logistical challenges as the cause of the delay. The postponement of the National Capital Region's pediatric vaccination rollout earlier set on February 4 will also affect the city and other local government units (LGUs)," she said. However, Schlosser said that the delay in the pediatric vaccination rollout is advantageous for the city's Vaccination Cluster Team for they will have more time to prepare for its seamless conduct. She added that the pilot pediatric vaccination rollout for five to 11 years old will be in the hospitals. Howev

In a statement Thursday, Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the task force, said they chose the hospitals as the venue for the pilot rollout to ensure that medical care is readily available. "Once there are glitches, we can manage it right away. Once everything is okay, we will then cascade it to our typical vaccination hubs," she said. Schlosser said they are considering having a separate lane for the youngest age group to ensure that the vaccines do not mix with those administered on other category groups. Schlosser clarified that the 5- to 11-year-old children's vaccine dosage is 0.2ml, lower than the standard dosage of 0.3ml for other population age groups. She added that
