A higher number of test samples and increased positivity rate pushed Sabah’s caseload to 165 on Friday from 124 the day earlier, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
He said the test samples increased by 109 to 2,155 on Friday while the positivity rate increased to 7.67 per cent.
Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 33 cases, followed by Sandakan (16), Kota Marudu (14), Tuaran (14), Penampang (13), Lahad Datu (11), Papar (11) and Tawau (10).
“Eight districts did not record any new infections,” he said in a statement, Friday.
He said 163 out of 165 cases were category one and two infections while one case was each recorded in category three and four.
No deaths or new clusters were identified.

Sabah’s Covid-19 caseload increased slightly to 132 Thursday from 125 the day earlier due to a higher positivity rate, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
“Even though the number of test samples decreased to 1,897 (from 2,122 the day earlier), cases still increased as the positivity rate rose from 5.89 per cent to 6.96 per cent,” he said in a statement, Thursday.
Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 40 cases, followed by Tuaran (22), Sandakan (13), Tawau (12), Kota Marudu (6) and Tenom (5).
“Seven districts did not record any new cases, namely Beaufort, Kalabakan, Kinabatangan, Kuala Penyu, Semporna, Telupid and Tongod,” Masidi added.
He said all cases were category one and two infections, while no deaths or new clusters were identified.
Sabah’s caseload rose to 178 on Thursday from 152 the day earlier, with cases in Kota Kinabalu accounting for nearly half of the caseload, said State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
One death was recorded in Ranau.
“Cases in Kota Kinabalu nearly doubled, from 45 the day before to 83 on Thursday, which is 46.6 per cent of the caseload,” he said in a statement, Thursday.
He added that although the test samples decreased from 2,238 the day before to 2,155 on Thursday, the positivity rate increased from 8.22 per cent to 8.86 per cent.
Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 83 cases, followed by Kota Marudu (15), Tawau (15), Tuaran (13), Penampang (10), Sandakan (9) and Kudat (6).
“Seven districts did not record any new infections,” he said.
He said 177 out of 178 cases were category one and two infections, while one case was recorded in category three.
