IPOH: No external injuries or bruises were found on the Indonesian maid who was allegedly raped by former Perak executive council member Paul Yong, the High Court here heard. Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital s medical officer Dr Kate Lynn Ignatius, who is with the emergency and trauma department, said no visible injuries were found on the victim when an examination was conducted on July 8,2019, a day after the incident. She said a urine test to determine if the victim was pregnant was also conducted, which came out negative. After the examination, I referred her to see an obstetrics and gynaecology specialist, as she claimed she was raped.

Dr Nilawati said this during the examination-in-chief by Deputy Public Prosecutor Liyana Zawani Mohd Radzi at the High Court here today. “From the examination, I found that there was a new laceration to the hymen as well as abrasions and redness at the bottom of the vagina,” she said. Dr Nilawati said vaginal lacerations can be caused by a penetration of a blunt object or a penis, or a finger, and a new laceration means that it must have occurred less than 72 hours before the victim was examined.

Bernama IPOH: There was nothing to suggest that the Indonesian maid allegedly raped by Tronoh state assemblyman Paul Yong Choo Kiong was being helped by someone when lodging her complaint over the telephone, the High Court here was told today. Riki Sapari, 39, said this under re-examination by Perak state prosecution director Datuk Jamil Aripin on the second day of Yong’s trial. Riki received the victim’s complaint at the Manpower Department of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur at about 11 am on July 8, 2019.
