LUMPUR: Police have rescued 35 foreign women, believed to be forced labour victims exploited by a cleaning service agency, following raids in Melaka Tengah and Petaling Jaya.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Huzir Mohamed (
pix) said in the raids conducted on Nov 12, 32 Indonesian and a Cambodian women were rescued in Melaka while two other Indonesians were rescued in Selangor.
“The victims aged between 18 and 40 years claimed they were made to work as daily house cleaners around Melaka since 2018 and have not received the RM900 to RM1,200 monthly income as promised,” he said in a statement today.
BUTTERWORTH: The court proceedings of a South Korean pastor accused of outraging the modesty of two men was delayed as he could not understand the charges read to him.
Jee Jon Hoon, 54, who is speech– and hearing-impaired and facing two counts of outraging the modesty of two men, failed to respond when the charges were read out to him and no plea was recorded yesterday.
The case has now been adjourned to Jan 18 for an international sign language interpreter to be present to read the charges to him.
According to the charge, Jee is alleged to have molested a man, then 21, at 12.20am in a room at Jee’s apartment in Kampung Paya in Butterworth on Oct 13,2013.

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have received six reports involving a Korean priest who allegedly molested five men with hearing and speech impairment in Penang.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Huzir Mohamed (
pix) said five investigation papers were opened in Penang and another in Selangor over the acts allegedly committed by the suspect between 2011 and 2016.
He said the 54-year-old man was remanded from Nov 24 till Nov 30 following reports lodged by the victims aged 27 to 40.
“The suspect, however, had to be quarantined, because he had close contact with a detainee in the lock-up who tested positive for Covid-19.

BUTTERWORTH: The lack of an international sign language interpreter led to a no plea being recorded when a 54-year-old deaf and mute Korean pastor was charged with two counts of outraging the modesty of two men at a Magistrate court here.
Magistrate M. Kalaiarasi postponed the case to allow Jee Jon Hoon, to be read the charges again in international sign language to reinterpret Jee s charge and record a plea.
Jee was charged with forcefully kissing, hugging and groping the private parts of a man, then 21, with criminal force at 12.20am in a room at Jee s apartment in Kampung Paya in Butterworth on Oct 13, 2013.

A Korean priest from a local church was arrested on 23 November on suspicion of allegedly molesting five disabled men and is expected to be charged next week on 21 December.
According to Berita Harian, the victims aged between 27 to 40 years old, who are members of a deaf association often attend religious classes around Penang and Selangor.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Huzir Mohamed said that six police reports have been lodged – five in Penang and one in Selangor – against the 54-year-old suspect.
Huzir said that his party received the first report on 12 November and five similar reports after that. He added that the suspect, who is married with two children, came to Malaysia based on the invitation of the deaf association’s founder to teach the Bible since 1998.
