PETALING JAYA: Parents and guardians must safeguard their children by monitoring their online activities following the rise of child pornography cases during the movement control (MCO) period, says Wanita MCA.
ANY complaint of sexual harassment and misconduct must be taken seriously, and this seriousness is reflected when all political parties stand together to voice their condemnation of the issue and call for human decency.
Malaysians with a moral fibre have cringed at reports of sexual harassment in our institutions of higher learning as well as schools, and many have sprung into action, including lawyers who are offering pro bono services to victims seeking redress.
Recently, a student uploaded a video on social media lamenting that her teacher had made callous remarks about rape during a lesson on reproductive health. Among the alleged remarks were that boys never complain of rape because it was sedap (pleasurable).

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians must be aware of misinformation spread on the Covid-19 vaccine, says Wanita MCA.
Its chief Datuk Heng Seai Kie said the public must be cautious of smear campaigns from anti-vaxxer groups who have malicious intentions to diminish the effectiveness of the vaccines. There may be rare cases of the vaccine being ineffective, but the overall effectiveness as shown in clinical trials will demonstrate that being vaccinated is still our best chance against the virus.
“Therefore, stop hesitating and register yourselves for vaccination today, ” she said in a statement on Thursday (March 11).
Heng also acknowledges the concerns that have been raised among members of the society over whether pregnant women or breastfeeding women should delay their vaccinations to prevent any possible side effects.
