KOTA KINABALU: Only six members in a family are allowed to visit their loved one’s grave during Hari Raya and the rest must stay home.
Urging people to comply with the standard operating procedure for Hari Raya in the state, Sabah Mufti Datuk Bungsu @ Aziz Jaafar said the visit must not exceed 45 minutes.
“We can have six people to a grave to ensure that there is no crowding and to avoid the spread of Covid-19, ” he said.
“The rest can conduct prayers, recite the Surah Al Fatihah or Surah Yassin and others at home, ” he added.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah mufti Datuk Bungsu @ Aziz Jaafar said with only six per household allowed to visit their loved ones graves on Hari Raya, other family members are urged to stay home in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP).
He said the people must adhere to the Hari Raya SOP in Sabah, which allows a maximum of six family members to visit each grave, not exceeding 45 minutes.
“We can allow six people (per family) to ensure there is no crowding, thus avoiding the spread of Covid-19.
“The rest can conduct prayers, recite Surah Al Fatihah or Surah Yassin readings and such at home, he said on Wednesday (May 12).
The zakat fitrah (personal tithe) in Sabah for this year has been set at RM7 per person, said Sabah Mufti Datuk Bungsu Aziz Jaafar.
He said the rate is equivalent to 2.7 kg rice, which is the staple food of the people of Sabah
