13th street. the fire, we re being told, has taken place over at steve s liquor store. obviously a big police and fire rescue presence out there. we re being told obviously they re taking away lanes as needed. asking drivers to avoid this part of u street near 13th. no telling how long they plan to be out there. let s move it over to our maps and show you how other parts of the region are shaping up. we begin in virginia and take a look at 66. eastbound travel is moving smoothly. we are seeing a little bit of that volume around 234. over to the maps again and this time, we ll shift our focus to 95. for those of you making the northbound trip, looking good at it, continuing on to fairfax all the way up to the mixing bowl on to 395 heading northbound. on the outer loop, travel times in maryland from 95 to 27 0, still in the green look at about 10 minutes from 95 to 270. southbound 95, no problems to report at this time to the capital beltway. d.c. 295, unlike yesterday morning
good evening, i m doreen gentzler. and i m jim vance. doug kammerer. watching a couple of stoppers out there. one came through loudon county. that storm now has completely died out but more storms back to the west and western portions of virginia and into western virginia right,flash flood warnings for west virginia and frederick county in towards virginia and also for the rest of us, a flash flood watch in effect for the day tomorrow. some areas tomorrow could pick up one to two inches of rain. maybe more. tomorrow is going to be a very wet day. a storm system moving in from the west is going to impact the entire day on our friday. i ll let you know who i think will get what coming up in my full forecast. okay, doug, thank you. we re following some breaking news out of grand rapids, michigan, tonight, that s where police have cornered a man suspected of shooting seven people to death including two children. police began a manhunt today after finding four people dead
progress east. that has caused a lot of problems in a lot of different areas because of the flash flooding. we do have some flash flood warnings in effect until 7:15 tonight including montgomery county, howard county, anne arundel county, prince george s county and even the southeastern portions of the district under a flash flood warning until 7:15. frederick county, maryland hit very hard earlier, but the rain is now done for you for the time being. i do think we are going to see another chance for some rain coming up a little bit later this evening. i ll show you why. it s back towards the west that we re seeing more rain into portions of west virginia. that s another little system that s going to make its way through overnight tonight into the next couple hours. so i think we re going to get a break here. the rain has stopped in your area, i expect to see a break for the next one to two, maybe three hours. and more rain will come later this evening. so they may actually b
the city was paralyzed for hours thursday, a murder shooting spree led to a wild chase through the streets that turned into a hostage standoff. it all came to an end with the gunman s death. this morning grand rapids police say the original seven victims ended with 34 rodrick dantzler, an ex-con, taking his own life. at the end of the life the suspect chose to put the gun to his head and fired one shot. reporter: the manhunt for dantzler began after four people were found dead in one home and three others in this house across town. two of the victims were children. at one point police shut down an interstate. they say dantzler fired during the chase. started firing out the window towards our car and kind of ducked down and the police continued chasing him. reporter: two people were hit, they were not seriously injured. police cordoned off the neighborhood near a small lake. actually saw him down by the lake behind the apartment complex and they were chasing him ba
