Leigh Davenport has always loved being a writer, but there was a point where she hit a wall in the editorial world coming up against the pace of digital journalism.
“I was always drawn to writing because I thought that storytelling can change minds and hearts,” Davenport told ESSENCE. “That was at the forefront of what I felt like my purpose was. I just didn’t feel like I was changing minds and hearts anymore. I felt like I was chasing traffic.”
