Police: Hoboken man charged with DWI after being found asleep behind the wheel

Hudson County View By John Heinis/Hudson County View Mark Kiang, 40, of Hoboken, was charged with DWI, refusal to submit to chemical testing, reckless driving, and operating an unregistered vehicle, according to Police Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera. On Friday at about approximately 12:41 a.m., Police Officers Daniel Grossi and Geovanni Cruzado were on patrol when they came across a parked vehicle with the driver’s side door open in the area of 2nd and Jackson Street. Upon further inspection, the officers found the vehicle running and observed a male sleeping in the driver’s seat. Grossi was able to wake the man up and he was identified as Kiang. Based on Grossi’s interaction with the driver, he believed that Kiang had been driving under the influence of an intoxicant.

Miller conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of 90 Hudson St. Upon speaking to the driver, Miller suspected he was under the influence of an intoxicant. Officer Ricky Truppner responded and conducted a Standardized Field Sobriety Test on the driver, identified as Psoras.

5 people arrested in Hoboken after police break up riot with 25 people in broad daylight

Hudson County View By John Heinis/Hudson County View Mickey Mendez, 21, of Jersey City, along with Jamil Rivera, 20, Kyeise Lopez, 22, Joseph Crandell, 28, and Keshon Crandell 21, all of Hoboken, were charged with rioting, disorderly conduct, and simple assault, according to Police Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera. Additionally, Mendez was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, while Joseph Crandell was charged with resisting arrest. Yesterday at about 12:46 p.m., Hoboken police officers were dispatched to the area of 3rd and Harrison Streets on a report of a group of men fighting in the street. It was also reported that one of the men involved was seen with a handgun.
