Syracuse, N.Y. Syracuse freshman Kamilla Cardoso used every inch of her 6-foot-7 frame to make an impact in Sunday’s 81-69 win over Notre Dame most notably on defense.
It didn’t matter how or where Cardoso was positioned on the floor because the result ended with her swatting the ball away.
One hand. Two hands. At the rim or in the mid-range, Cardoso was there to contest.
Cardoso recorded a career-high nine blocks on Sunday and became the first Orange player with nine rejections in a decade, since Kayla Alexander accomplished the feat against Delaware State on Dec. 4, 2010.
