Fifteen out of 26 people indicted in a massive 2021 drug bust are serving a collective 97\u00bd years in prison and facing a total of 55 years of supervised release, federal court records show.
June 1, 2021 The grand jury issued a 27-defendant, 34-count indictment on Wednesday, charging twenty-seven individuals associated with the Nortenos gang for their roles in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin across the Wasatch Front. Previously, it returned five other indictments relating to this investigation and operation. The charges follow joint Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force operations conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Metro Narcotics Task Force (DEA), the Internal Revenue Service’s Criminal Investigation Division (IRS), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Unified Police Department’s Metro Gang Unit (MGU), and the United States Marshals Service.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. â The pandemic has created a tough year for many organizations, including nonprofits, and even though Christmas may be over the spirit of giving isn t for one local business owner. Alejandro Ocampo is the owner of several local restaurants such as Vida Vegan and Bakersfield Pizza company. He said that since the beginning of the year his family-owned businesses has been saving money to give back to local organizations, and they call it the 12 Days of Kindness. We are just really excited to do it, regardless of our current situation. It s been really neat sharing our blessings with our community, said Ocampo.
