Weapon of mass destruction charge added over US governor kidnap plot
US federal prosecutors have unveiled new charges against three men accused of an alleged plot to kidnap a US Governor, Gretchen Whitmer, including conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction.
Adam Fox, 40, Barry Croft, 45, and Daniel Joseph Harris, 23, were charged with knowingly conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction, in addition to the federal kidnapping conspiracy charges that were announced in October, when officials thwarted an alleged plot by the men and several others to kidnap the Michigan Governor, a Democrat.

Three of the six men accused of plotting to kidnapMichigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer are facing additional charges of conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction, federal prosecutors said Wednesday.
Adam Fox, 40, and Daniel Joseph Harris, 23, both of Michigan, and Delaware resident Barry Croft, 45, are also charged in a kidnapping conspiracy that was uncovered by state authorities and the FBI last year. The trio is part of more than a dozen men charged in connection to the case.
Federal prosecutors allege the three men plotted to use explosives during the attempted kidnapping.

(Bloomberg) The U.S. Justice Department said a grand jury added new charges against three men accused of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
(Bloomberg) The U.S. Justice Department said a grand jury added new charges against three men accused of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
In the new indictment, released Wednesday, the men are accused of planning to blow up a highway bridge near the governorâs vacation home, in an effort to hinder the response by law enforcement to the kidnapping. One of the men ordered $4,000 of explosives from an undercover FBI agent, according to the indictment.
