The Mountain Top and Taylor locations of 10X Fitness opened Saturday despite a statewide order that gyms must stay closed until Jan. 4 to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Daniel Cronauer, co-owner of 10X Fitness, said he decided to open nine days before the state order expires for the sake of the fitness centersâ members and employees.
It is also a matter of fairness, Cronauer said Sunday.
âWe are tired of seeing the overwhelming crowds in shopping centers while small businesses are getting our butts kicked,â Cronauer said. âIt doesnât make any sense.â
Gyms are among the safest places to gather with strangers, as long as proper precautions are taken, he said.
