The Danbury Police Special Investigations Division (SID) has been busy lately. On September 13th, they arrested a man they say is a known drug dealer in the Beaver Street area. On Monday (9/18/23) Danbury authorities arrested another drug suspect in the same area.
Last Friday, members of the Connecticut Department of Liquor Control along with members of the Danbury Police Special Investigations Division and officers from the Patrol Division, inspected seven area businesses to ensure their compliance with State of Connecticut liquor laws. The investigation began after the Danbury Police Department received a growing number of complaints. Four businesses were cited. The full list of those businesses is available below:
1- La Costenita: Found to have no patio permit, Unlawful Conduct (Hookah smoking)
2- La Noche: Refilled alcohol bottles
3- Caribbean Café: Unlawful Conduct (Hookah smoking)
4- Barberie’s Grill: Served alcohol to 3 underage patrons
Police say this was the culmination of a month-long investigation that yielded search and seizure warrants from Danbury Superior Court. Authorities say they observed the target of the investigation, Robert Stevenson traveling in a vehicle down Division Street on Thursday.

The Danbury Police Department have announced the arrest of a Waterbury man who is currently facing multiple felonies after the department received numerous complaints of the alleged suspect dealing drugs right out of his vehicle.
This is not the first time that the Danbury Police have arrested Ramell Mel Crawford, of Morningside Ave in Waterbury. In fact, I wrote an article back in October 2020 about Crawford s arrest for these same charges. As it turns out, according to the press release from the Danbury PD, this is Crawford s third such arrest recently for the same offenses.
