SALEM No date has been set, but the Salem school district is looking at providing a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for students ages 16, 17 and 18 at the high school.
Superintendent Sean Kirkland explained that a survey was sent to to parents recently to get a feel for how many would be interested. He said 124 families responded back, with 92 students interested in receiving the vaccine.
He said that’s about 50 percent. The survey also asked about 13, 14 and 15 year olds because it’s possible the age may be lowered in the near future for those eligible to receive the vaccine.
A call was sent out to all parents Monday regarding the possible clinic, which will be handled by Giant Eagle with the Pfizer vaccine. Giant Eagle handled the clinic for school employees earlier this year in the high school auditorium.
