Of hours but firefighters finally got the better of this fire but not before it burned a big section on the south side of San Bruno Mountain behind me and fire crews are still up over the edge digging the firelines back there to protect the areas that did not burn today. The fire sparked after 2 p. M. Residents say they heard a loud pop. Some of them thought it was fireworks. Some say it was a transformer. Power went out for an hour. It is back on now.
