For Columbus Fire and Rescue Captain Joseph Denton, facing danger usually entails running toward fires. But for the past year, the captain has been facing another fear: heights.
The Columbus Lowndes County Airport continued its 70th Anniversary celebration, and the terminal was renamed in honor of Tuskegee Airman Lieutenant Colonel Alva Temple.
“My grandfather was a very modest man,” said Angie Billups Washington. “He did not like the spotlight. If we could hear him now, he would be saying, ‘All this, for me?’”
