Chilly start to the week…
Frosty weather will be in place tonight. A cold air mass is in place, and light winds and clear skies will contribute to area wide lows in the 20s and middle 30s. It was a pleasant day in the region this afternoon with highs in the 50s to lower 60s. Normal highs for this date are around 70 degrees.
Frost and freeze alerts tonight…
A Frost Advisory and a Freeze Warning are in effect tonight from 2 am through 7 am tomorrow morning. The Freeze Warning is for Jackson and Monroe counties, and will mean lows in the 20s. The Frost Advisory for the rest of us will mean lows in the upper 20s to middle 30s. Protect any sensitive vegetation tonight.

Few t-showers…
It was an interesting sky as a cold front has come through the area. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms moved quickly through. They have now moved to the southeast and clearing skies will take us into tonight.
Warmer weather today…
Highs managed to sneak up into the 70s for a time this afternoon, but northwesterly winds kept things hopping with gusts up to around 30 mph.
Cooler Friday weather…
Highs will retreat back into the 60s for the end of the work week, but will quickly rise into the lower 80s on Saturday. We will see plenty of sunshine, so weather for outdoor chores will be in great shape.
Cloudy start to the week…
Skies remained cloudy for Monday afternoon and temperatures moved into the lower to middle 60s, or about normal for later April.
Storm system approaches…
The next storm is headed into the region, with more clouds and increasing chances of rain. Later tonight a few t-storms will make a run at the area, but the main chances will be tomorrow into tomorrow night. Much needed rain is likely, but we will be monitoring the storms for potential hail. It would appear that the main threat for strong winds and other severe weather will be south. A warm front appears to be the focus and it will mainly stay south.
Severe Weather Outlook for tonight is a slight risk east of the Mississippi River.

Large hail early this morning…
Isolated storms popped up late last night and produce larger sized hail from Winona County into Southern Trempealeau County. Hailstones up to an inch and a half fell on a few locations, and the same front may become active again this evening.
