Latest developments. This is a big step forward. Reporter it is a huge step. The mayor and City Health Officials making it clear that San Francisco needs more vaccines. Now, the city, to date, has gotten 12,000 vaccines. The city initially asked for 35,000. Now, the need is up to 70,000. That is the need. By declaring a local Public Health emergency for monkeypox, the city can streamline resources. Now, the city had to close vaccination sites recently because it ran out of vaccines. At todays news conference, City Health Officials want to stress monkeypox is a very serious virus and it is not only isolated to the lgbt community.
