I am shocked that the local Planning Department is so short of staff that they have to hire an out-of-town firm to study the feasibility of Roberts Resorts RV Park, an enormous project with such monum.

Two cats die in morning apartment fire in Johnson County

Officials say the fire was extinguished quickly, with damage contained to only one apartment.Two dogs and a cat were rescued but two other cats died in the fire.

1949-2020 Dennis Elmo Stephens of Denton, Texas passed away on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020. Dennis was born to loving parents Jack and LaVerne Stephens on May 28, 1949. He grew up in his awesome “hometown” of Breckenridge before settling in Denton. As all loyal Buckaroos, Dennis played football, baseball but his great love was “track and field”. Dennis was Senior Class President and loved by all. After high school, with the help of Coach John Cotton, he attended University of North Texas on a full track scholarship. In 1971 he received the “Outstanding College Athletes of America” Award. At UNT he still holds the school record of 1.48.8 in the 880-yard dash. After he graduated from UNT in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in Business, he made his career as a Sales Rep for beauty supply companies. After 42 years he retired in Krum with long weekends spent on the family farm in Woodson.

Place North West | January start for MMU science campus

Sarah Townsend Construction services firm Bowmer + Kirkland has been appointed as the main contractor to build Manchester Metropolitan University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, and to refurbish the John Dalton complex. Following ground preparatory work this month, construction is to start at the Chester Street site in January for the largest construction project MMU has ever undertaken. Under the plans, MMU’s John Dalton West building will be demolished and a seven-storey, 160,000 sq ft faculty of science and engineering erected in its place. The £45m building will include laboratories, such as a 200-student ‘super-lab’, and seminar rooms to the south of the building, while offices and communal areas will be situated to the north.
