When the NCAA allowed players to opt-out due to COVID-19, some felt it could be a foolish move as it relates to a prospect s draft potential. A missed season could have the draft stock of a former bonafide top-10 pick fall outside the first round.
It was a risk Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons was willing to take for his young son, Malcolm.
It also could be one that lands him with the Dallas Cowboys come April 29.
The last time fans saw the 6-3 linebacker take the field was at AT&T Stadium in the 2019 Cotton Bowl. Flying left and right, the Memphis Tigers offensive line could do nothing to contain Parsons as a blitzer.

FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys have long boasted that the hole in the roof (at old Texas Stadium, and still maybe at AT&T Stadium) is there to allow God to watch His team.
Marcus Spears, now of ESPN, who also considers the Cowboys to be his team, hopes God is watching this upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. . for the purpose of dissuading owner Jerry Jones and his staff from the drafting of Kyle Pitts.
“I hope to God, Spears recently said on TV, (that) Kyle Pitts isn’t there at 10.
But why not? One of the most talented prospects in this draft - and somebody the Cowboys might have in the top three or top five on their Big Board - is the Florida tight end Pitts, who has soared up draft boards this spring due to his size, athleticism, potential and Megatron measurables.
FRISCO - In the Jerry Jones era, his Dallas Cowboys have engineered 68 draft-time trades.
The math says his Cowboys are about to do it again. And here is the simplest reason why: Dallas owns 10 selections in the upcoming NFL Draft. That can be 10 throws of the dice, a greater volume of dice rolls meaning more chances to hit snake-eyes.
Or . it can mean a packaging of picks - maybe more than once - to pinpoint on hoped-for quality.
Is it about risk-taking? Sometimes; that’s in the DNA nature of Wild-cattin’ Jerry.” But it can also be the result of the Trade Value Chart, an NFL-wide guideline to what equals what. (Also, by the way, an invention from the Jerry Era.)

FRISCO - The NFL Draft is coming and so, maybe, is a major philosophical decision for the Dallas Cowboys: Draft for need (that is, defense) or draft the B.A.A. (best available athlete )?
“I spoke to a long-time executive, ESPN s Jeremy Fowler reports, who said that (Kyle) Pitts would completely take their offense to a new stratosphere. He is that kind of talent. So, if Jerry Jones wants to go that route, he’s always a wild card on draft day. But in recent years, the Cowboys have been a little more sensible, so they could get a top cornerback staying where they are.”
