Napa Valley, CA (February 17, 2021) – Acclaimed wineries Dalla Valle Vineyards of Napa Valley and Ornellaia of Tuscany have partnered to create DVO, a red wine based on Cabernet Sauvignon with a small addition of Cabernet Franc and draws on each estate’s passion for precision, expressiveness, and uncompromising quality. The inaugural vintage of this limited bottling, DVO 2018, will launch October 1, 2021. Ornellaia announces new Napa project 5th February, 2021 by Rupert Millar Tuscan estate Ornellaia has announced a new venture in California in partnership with Dalla Valle Vineyards, called ‘DVO’. The first wine from the new label, the 2018, is due for release this October. It is an almost 100% Cabernet Sauvignon save for a little Cabernet Franc added too. Ornellaia’s estate director Axel Heinz and Maya Dalla Valle, said in a joint statement: “Dalla Valle and Ornellaia’s friendship and shared passion for great terroir has propelled us on a new journey to create a unique and distinctive wine that balances the expressiveness of Napa with a decidedly Italian approach to elegance.”
