Travel news latest: Heathrow chaos as 120 security staff told to isolate Hazel Plush, Emma Beaumont Heathrow passengers faced departures queues of up to 2.5 hours today, as the airport experienced a reported shortfall of 120 security personnel. The short-staffing was  due to colleagues being instructed to self-isolate by NHS Track and Trace, the airport later confirmed. Some Heathrow employees had initially claimed that security staff had  failed to turn up because of the football, while other cited a glitch in the NHS app, triggering mass self-isolation. Passengers took to Twitter to complain about the delays, with one user commenting: Chaos at T5 this morning, 90 minutes to go through security. Others reported departures queues of 2.5 hours.
