Massachusetts-based coffee technology and manufacturing startup Cometeer is finally ready for liftoff with an entirely new take on high-quality, high-convenience coffee.
After winning a Best New Product award at the SCA Expo in Boston last year for its cryogenically preserved coffee extract capsules, Cometeer proudly pronounced, “The future of coffee is here.” Roughly 20 months later and with some $50 million in venture capital secured, the future of coffee is back, fully prepared for production and distribution in 2021 following a recent soft launch.
Roast magazine and Daily Coffee News are thrilled to be announcing the launch the Coffee Industry Job Board!
As with any job board, the idea is to match job seekers with job posters for the mutual benefit of the two. We realize there are plenty of other job boards out there, but we wanted to offer something focused squarely on the coffee industry, with a dedicated website and no barriers to entry for job seekers.
The job board will always be free to job seekers and it is currently free to job posters as the industry navigates economic changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Over time, we plan to offer paid premium posting options and numerous other promotional features. Selected job postings will be included in DCN’s twice-weekly e-newsletter, which currently has more than 21,000 subscribers.

The Specialty Coffee Association has announced rules updates for the four 2021 World Coffee Championship events currently scheduled to take place in conjunction with the SCA’s World of Coffee event next June in Athens, Greece.
Many of the updates have been designed to promote social distancing and reduced face-to-face interactions through revised stage sets, changes to head judging protocols, and an increase in the use of online meetings for orientations and reviews.
Some of the rules changes will be revisited following this competition season, while others will remain indefinitely. Here are summaries of changes to the following 2021 World Coffee Championships: Cezve/Ibrik, Barista, Brewers Cup, Cup Tasters.
