Following the death of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry, Kasa police have filed a case against Dr Anahita Pandole for causing death by negligence, rash driving, and other charges reports ANI.
Mistry (54) and his friend Jahangir Pandole died in a car crash on a bridge on the Surya river on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in Palghar district adjoining Mumbai on September 4, 2022. They were riding in the back seat of the Mercedes car.
Darius Pandole said his wife, Dr Anahita was trying to move past a heavy vehicle by overtaking it when the three-lane highway suddenly became a two-lane one. Flustered by the change, and to avoid an accident, she rammed into the wall of the bridge over the Surya river.
"The audit was carried out barely a week after the fatal crash at Palghar that shook the country. IRF said the audit was conducted after consent from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The report has been submitted to MoRTH and ANHAI for action," said K.K. Kapila, President, Emeritus, International Road Federation (IRF).
