He said the governors would review the state of the nation, especially issues of security and the economy, as well as “fine-tune strategies to support PDP as a viable and necessary alternative to the ruling APC-led administration.”
He further said all the PDP governors were expected at the meeting as the party’s National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Walid Jibrin, would deliver keynote addresses.
Recall that the PDP governors held a similar meeting recently in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

Governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will converge on Ibadan, on Monday, to discuss the state of the nation particularly the worsening insecurity.
The meeting is a follow up on a similar one held in Makurdi, the Benue State capital in April, which similarly had on its agenda, the state of the nation.
The agenda released by the Director-General of the PDP Governors Forum, Hon Cyril Maduabum, on Sunday, indicated that the meeting to be presided over by its Chairman and Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, will also fine-tune strategies to render the party a viable alternative to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, had dismissed Obaseki’s claim, but the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, had hinted that the money could have been printed to support the economy
In a statement yesterday, Kebbi State Governor and chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Atiku Bagudu, said Obaseki’s claim did not reflect the true position of things.
“Given the significance of the statement from a sitting governor and the possible negative impact it has brought to the credibility of both the federal and state governments in managing government finances, the forum is obliged to put a statement out.
