Today s letters: Don t open a café  at Patterson Creek

Try refreshing your browser, or Today s letters: Don t open a café  at Patterson Creek Back to video Isn’t the National Capital Commission supposed to follow Treasury Board’s Values and Ethics Code and act “with integrity and in a manner that will bear the closest public scrutiny”? The NCC plans a licensed bistro for Patterson Creek Park, which is not zoned for restaurants and is too narrow to permit “outdoor commercial patios” unless partially screened to a height of two metres (not an option beside the heritage-designated Patterson Creek Pavilion). The NCC got a lot right introducing taverns and bistros at Rideau Falls, Major’s Hill Park, Remic Rapids and Confederation Park. Obit: Cambrian grad behind Spartacat and the Sens logo; lived larger than life

Article content With the death this week of Kevin Caradonna, the Sens Nation lost a significant alumnus from its early days, but the spirit Caradonna helped foster between the club and its fans remains an enduring legacy. He was also responsible for numerous other designs familiar to longtime fans, including the Palladium logo and menus at Marshy’s, the former bar and restaurant at the Canadian Tire Centre.
