According to the Indian Meteorological Department, it is likely to weaken further into a depression by the time it reaches Puri in Odisha around noon on Sunday. However, the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall over coastal districts remains. On Saturday, thousands of people living along the sea were evacuated as a precautionary measure and 64 teams of the National Disaster Response Force were kept ready to tackle any eventuality.
