Middlesex Community College News COURTESY OF MIDDLESEX COMMUNITY COLLEGE Whether they are looking to attend college or needing help navigating the workforce Middlesex Community College is in a unique position to help learners of all ages and stages in their lives achieve their goals. For the fall 2021 semester, students in MCC’s Launch Your Business Now program have access to seven scholarships as well as funding from the Cummings Foundation to gain the knowledge and tools they need to start their own business from concept to launch.  Participating in the Launch Your Business Course and having financial support in being able to do so is a “real opportunity to go after a long time dream” for individuals who have always wanted to start or enhance their small business, according to Stacie Hargis, MCC professor and entrepreneurship coordinator.

Middlesex Community College News MCC selected to participate in Institute for Racial Equity Work  Dedicated to providing an equitable and accessible education for all students, Middlesex Community College strives to create an inclusive environment through conversations and informed changes. To build upon the college’s commitment to racial equity, Middlesex was selected to participate in the 2021 Institute on Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Campus Centers by the Association of American Colleges & Universities.   The only institution in Massachusetts participating, Middlesex is one of 78 institutions chosen for the national institute that will run virtually in June. Phil Sisson, MCC’s president-elect, said MCC is proud to be one of only a few community colleges throughout the country invited to attend. 

$500k Cummings grant will aid residents at The Boston Home

The Boston Home on Dorchester Avenue has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation to support two of its core programs, the B.Fit! day program and the Wheelchair Enhancement Center. The Boston Home, an innovative community for adults with multiple sclerosis and other advanced neurological disorders, willuse the funding over the next ten years. B.Fit!
