Rs 53 60 cr allocated in current FY for restoration, conservation of centrally-protected monuments in UP: Govt tells LS

A total of 321 private security personnel have been deployed at "centrally protected monuments/sites/museums in Uttar Pradesh during the last three years", according to data shared by the minister in his response. "The total fund allocation in the current financial year for restoration and conservation of centrally protected monuments, including religious monuments, in Uttar Pradesh is Rs 53.60 crore," the minister said.

"Every year around 600-700 monuments are identified for taking up structural repairs of special nature on the basis of assessment made at field level. A conservation programme is drawn up after proper identification of items of work and adequate funds provided to carry out the specified works," he said.
