Cigarroa and Antonio “Tony” Briones III, Councilman Alberto Torres and the Prairie Foundation’s Hector “Tito” Garcia.Cuate Santos / Laredo Morning Times Members of the Rio Grande International Study Center and the City of Laredo gathered Wednesday morning to announce a new mural depicting the importance of the Rio Grande and its impact on the community at the Inner City Park. Antonio Briones III was chosen to design and paint the mural on a 238-foot wide and 10-foot high wall at the park which will be his largest mural painted. The mural is estimated to be finished in the summer. He said it was going to be called “Mi Rio Grande” and will not only depict its beauty but also the pollution that has plagued it for years.

We are just lucky to come out on top. It feels good to be 1-0. It is a confidence booster for us. We have not had a big win in the last five games. It is not a lot, but we are going to take it home and improve on it.”
