Show Transcript A lot of businesses have been struggling to hire workers since some have started offering big incentives, including a central coast employer action. News reporter Phil Gomez is live in Santa Cruz with more on a business offering a $10,000 signing bonus film. Well that s right dan. That s just for one position right now. But anyway, I m at restaurant Italiano in santa Cruz and they have job openings here and they haven t been able to fill them. So there are many reasons behind the staffing problems. One of them is because people are still concerned about contracting Covid. Celebrated on the last Monday in May (this year, May 31) Memorial Day arrives with outdoor services and presentations to honor American soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. To mark the occasion, Bay Area organizations plan to host wreath-laying ceremonies, cemetery-side memorial services and more events to attend in person or to view online.
Along with the solemnity of the federal holiday, the three-day weekend in late spring is also full of opportunities to relax and enjoy as summer approaches.

Disneyland s California Adventure is reopening for an event, and even Mickey Mouse is coming back

For the first time in almost a year, Mickey Mouse will appear at California Adventure for A Taste of DisneylandDisney Channel via Getty Images
For just shy of a year, speculation has been flying about when Disneyland will finally reopen from its extended pandemic closure. Now, we have something close to an answer, for one park, at least. On March 18, the gates to the entire Disney California Adventure park will reopen for “A Touch of Disney,” and even Mickey Mouse is coming back to celebrate.
