Croatia Osiguranje s cons net profit down 3.4% in 2020 License: Creative Commons CC0 ZAGREB (Croatia), March 3 (SeeNews) - Croatia Osiguranje [ZSE:CROS], the largest insurer in the Adriatic country, said its consolidated net profit fell 3.4% year-on-year to 327.9 million kuna ($52.3 million/43.3 million euro) in 2020. Consolidated gross written premiums declined 2% on the year to 3.2 billion kuna in 2020, Croatia Osiguranje said in a filing with the Zagreb bourse last week. Life insurance premiums decreased 14.7% year-on-year to 551.1 million kuna in 2020, while non-life insurance premiums edged up 1.1% to 2.7 billion kuna. Revenue from investment fell by 6.9% to 487.7 million kuna in 2020. The insurer is controlled by local diversified group Adris Grupa.

Consolidated gross written premiums increased by an annual 33% to 1 billion kuna last year, with premiums from mandatory third party motor liability insurance rising by 53% to 571.4 million kuna, Adriatic Osiguranje said in a statement filed with the Zagreb bourse last week. Total revenue of the group rose 18% to 914.9 million kuna in the year under review, while total expenditures increased 18.2% to 844.6 million kuna. The group includes Adriatic Osiguranje d.d. as a parent company along with its subsidiaries real estate firm Tehnomobil Nekretnine d.o.o. and motor vehicle services provider Autocentar Vrbovec d.o.o..

OTP Bank Croatian unit sells insurance business to Groupama Source: OTP Bank FB page ZAGREB (Croatia), December 18 (SeeNews) - Hungarian financial services group OTP said on Friday its Croatian unit, OTP Banka d.d., sold its insurance business to Hungarian insurer Groupama Biztosito, part of France s Groupama Group. The financial closure of the transaction for the sale of 100% of OTP Osiguranje d.d. to Groupama Biztosito is expected to take place in the first half of 2021, OTP said in a brief statement. The value of the deal was not disclosed. The transaction still needs to obtain the necessary regulatory approvals.
