Sunday things change with dropping temperatures so cool starting next week. Wind speeds are calm throughout the south bay. The east bay, some of the hills, though, are getting more of a breeze. So gusty east and north bay hills. Some up to 40 Miles Per Hour up to 20 to 30mileperhour gusts until lunchtime in the Higher Elevations. Temperatures now in the 40s for San Francisco. 40 livermore. Santa rosa 40. So no 30s in sight. A lot warmer compared to yesterday but still chilly in the 40s. And heres that visibility. So you can see a bit of fog forming if you are just south of san jose and in livermore. But visibility is okay at least where the gauges are and then theres some working it way throughout the Central Valley locations so it could impact fairfield, some of the valleys this morning but it seems to be too windy especially across the north bay for it to really settle in to those valley locations. We have Team Coverage of the cold snap tonight beginning with brian hackney. Brian . Reporter it is going to get cold tonight. In fact the coldest night of the year is expected in the bay area as temperatures are diving down into the mid20s before all is said and done. Specifically santa rosa tonight down to 27 degrees. San jose will be down to 2 below freezing. Walnut creek will be down to 27 as well. No surprise then, but within 60 minutes, freeze warnings will go up for much of the bay area with lows expected to bottom out in the mid20s to the lower 30s with the usual threats to plants, animals, so it is a night to bundle up. Could bring us quite an interesting view this morning. Also along 152 turning into slush over the last 30 minutes as the rainsnow came down and its cold enough that along some of the foothills, as low as 1500 feet we are seeing a bit of the turn from the rain to slush and higher up looking at snowfall.
