One of the worst fires in the city of lafayette, ever. It destroyed. It was a three alarm inferno. It destroyed this property here leaving the chamber of commerce and a number of other businesses devastated. Inside here, you had the restaurant. You had a cpa firm. You had a Skin Care Firm among other businesses. We saw some of these Business Owners showing up today, standing there shell shocked in tears, speechless. Telling us they were in shock and they did not know what to say as they were informed by the Fire Department. Their livelihoods were gone. The fire started just before midnight. The flames were so big as you could see in the video, that firefighters had already lost a building. Before they even arrived. All they could do is keep it contained and stop it from spreading to the apartments nearby where people like caitlin glibson had been asleep.
