All New Yorkers 16 and older can now sign up to get the COVID-19 vaccine, and Albany County health officials are continuing their calls for this younger age group to roll up their sleeves.
With the summer months quickly approaching, Albany County Executive Dan McCoy says it s critical for younger adults to stay vigilant and get vaccinated.
In the last two months, McCoy says new positive cases for people between the ages of 10 and 19, and also for those in their 20s, rose by at least 23%
In order to try to reach this group, the county partnered with colleges like Siena College and Russell Sage to distribute 1,200 shots to students this week, and they re looking to partner with Saint Rose next week.
