ALBANY, N.Y. — Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy provided the latest on the COVID-19 pandemic during his Monday morning press briefing. McCoy continued to encourage people to become vaccinated against the virus. The county executive also implored people to share their stories and educate vaccine-hesitant people on the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines. We need your help. We need to continue to do the right thing to open up and to get back to somewhat normalcy or where we were at pre-COVID, McCoy said on the need for people to become vaccinated. - Advertisement - As of Sunday, 54.2% of Albany County’s population has received at least the first dose of the vaccine, and 41.5% have been fully vaccinated. Statewide, the first dose vaccination rate is 46.5%, and the full vaccination rate is 34.9%.
