Im very excited to introduce her to you. She stuck to Fay Yarbrough professor of history and an associate dean at rice university. Dr. Yabra as an expert on 19th century native american history, and shes got special interest in the interactions between Indigenous People and people of african descent during the 19th century. So her first book was race and the Cherokee Nation sovereignty in the 19th century, and her most recent book is called choctaw confederates the American Civil War in indian country. And of course you recognize the title. That book is the subject of tonights talk and its also basically brand new. I noticed its official publication date was exactly two weeks ago. So its a twoweek birthday for your book this evening and were excited to share it with you.
