Profile: Bill Yeargin of Correct Craft
Bill Yeargin, a reluctant CEO, navigated boat maker Correct Craft through three crises. He s working to avoid a fourth.
Clad all in black, tall, Bill Yeargin nonetheless strikes a self-effacing figure as he quietly returns greetings of “Hi, Bill” from the workers on the Correct Craft boat factory floor. His shirt has the company name and a slogan introduced under his management: “Making Life Better” better for customers, but also workers and, he says, anyone else the company touches.
Right now, the better life is in high demand. “We have dealers and customers screaming, wanting boats,” he says. He aims to please, but meeting demand isn’t what worries him. What concerns him is a future in which the factory east of Orlando could fall silent.

Correct Craft announced that its Marine Industry Culture Summit, held virtually last week in Orlando, Fla., is available to stream.
This year’s two-hour, online summit drew an estimated 600 registrants. Last year, about 40 industry leaders participated in a two-day gathering in Orlando, Fla., to discuss the importance of culture in an organization.
Correct Craft president and CEO Bill Yeargin opened the event by discussing last year’s summit and sharing his thoughts on creating a culture mindset, citing examples from Correct Craft.
