PETALING JAYA: The Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (Motac) has been recognised for its contributions towards developing the local craft sector at the International Craft Awards 2020 in New Delhi.
At the programme organised by Craft Village on Sunday (Feb 21), Motac won the Lifetime Achievement award for a government representative for its continued efforts in championing the Malaysian craft industry.
Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the recognition was the result of shared commitment between the ministry and its strategic partners, including government and private agencies, in developing the country s craft industry. I am confident that the craft sector will continue to grow with the production of new creative products which will support the country s economic growth and create job opportunities for local communities, she said.
