Earlier, it was very difficult for hearses to reach the Kalpalli Hindu Burial Ground or Christian Burial Ground from Old Madras Road and other areas such as CV Raman Nagar, Kaggadasapura, Krishnaiah Palya, Kasturi Nagar and other areas. With the completion of asphalting of the road between Old Madras Road and the railway track, motorists, especially hearse van drivers, can reach the burial grounds more easily.
Prabhakar B, a retired professor and a resident of that area, explained the Gover Road is located in Cox Town, near the railway track in ward number 79.
Recounting a distressing incident, a resident of Cox Town shared, “On June 11, around 3:50 am, a horrifying assault took place in Cox Town. An unidentified person confronted a driver, demanding his mobile phone and cash. When the driver resisted, the assailant viciously attacked him, inflicting three stab wounds. The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera.
