Despite that, McGregor has found the time to take a keen interest in the career of Sanchez which has taken a turn for the worse in recent weeks.
‘The Nightmare’ was by the promotion before his proposed retirement fight against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone at UFC Vegas 26. The trouble began when Fabia requested all of his former fighters’ medical records prompting the UFC to ask Sanchez to confirm he was healthy to compete on May 8. On the advice of his lawyer, Sanchez refused to do so. Soon after he was cut by the UFC and Alex Morono was announced as Cerrone’s new opponent.

Dana White isn’t committing to the notion of Nick Diaz stepping into the octagon again.
The former Strikeforce champion and longtime welterweight contender has been a popular topic of comeback conversation for years now, dating back to his most recent fight against Anderson Silva back in 2015. Despite having a five-year suspension for marijuana use stemming from the Silva bout reduced to 18 months, Diaz still has yet to return to competition and aside from the occasional rumor, has not come close to having a fight booked.
Last December, Diaz’s manager announced that he expected his client to return in 2021 and Diaz himself made an appearance at UFC 261 in Jacksonville, Fla., once again sparking comeback chatter.

Phil Hawes vs. Kyle Daukaus
The first round was the traditional feeler round where it was a lot of clinching and feeling out. Daukaus landed some serious shots in the second round and boht fighters seemed to amp things up. Hawes ramped up his striking at the end of the second round as Daukaus looked to come back in a bit too quickly from taking a low blow. Hawes got Daukaus to the ground in the third and kept him there for an extended period of time while landing strikes. Daukaus didn’t seem to have any answers. The third round was all Hawes, he’s a different guy than the last time we saw him, and that guy is dangerous.
