Serum Institute of India (SII) CEO Adar Poonawalla on Friday hailed WHO's approval for emergency use of Covovax vaccine for children "as yet another milestone" in the fight against COVID-19.
The World Health Organization gave emergency-use status to a Covid-19 vaccine developed by Novavax, the first protein-based shot to get approval against the virus.
Recruitment of volunteers for the phase 2/3 clinical trial of COVID-19 vaccine Covovax among children aged 2 to 17 years began on Sunday at the Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in New Delhi.
