WASHINGTON: Warning that there is there’s no wall high enough to keep any virus away, US President Joe Biden on Wednesday pledged America would become an arsenal of vaccines for other countries in a landmark speech aimed at reasserting global American leadership and proposing massive domestic government spending to help the needy by taxing the wealthy.
In his first address to the joint session of the US Congress remarks crafted by his Indian-American speechwriter Vinay Reddy Biden acknowledged that no one nation can deal with all the crises of our time alone – from terrorism to nuclear proliferation to climate change to – and as we’re experiencing now, pandemics, while lauding the Covid-19 vaccine rollout as one of the greatest logistical achievements in US history.

In an effort to ramp up the immunisation drive, at least 23 Indian states have announced that they will vaccinate their population free of cost. While some states have made the vaccine free for all, others have clarified it will be free for people between the age of 18-45 only. However, the central government s drive for free vaccinations for those above 45 will continue.

New Delhi- According to a government source, India will waive its 10% customs duty on imported COVID-19 vaccines in an attempt to speed up the vaccination drive in order to curb the spread of the cases of the novel coronavirus which is skyrocketing and spiraling out of control with every passing day. Boosting up the vaccination process has been the top priority of the government in their fight against this deadly infectious disease.
Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik said that if the vaccination certificates carry PM Modi s photo, then the death certificates of the COVID victims should also carry his image.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said: “This is an extraordinary feat, coming exactly 100 days after Margaret Keenan received the first authorised jab in the whole world.
“It has been a national mission, one of the one of the biggest logistical exercises since the war and I d like to thank everyone who played their part.”
Speaking from Downing Street on Wednesday, Mr Hancock added: “The data shows that if you live with someone who’s been vaccinated, you have a 30 per cent lower risk of catching COVID-19 yourself.
