Presently, there are 11 districts whose Covid positivity rate in the week ending April 12 is more than the state average of 7.51 percent. These include Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nagpur, Sangli, Raigad, and Satara among others.
Maharashtra on Thursday recorded 1,086 COVID-19 cases and one death, which took the tally to 81,53,377 and the count to 1,48,471, a health official said.
The overall active caseload in the country currently stands at 40,215 with a daily positivity rate of 3.65 per cent and a weekly positivity rate of 3.83 per cent, according to the release.
Experts have said that the Covid cases in India are expected to surge for the next 10-12 days, and will come down with a gradual decline, reducing the infection threat.
