BMC all set for Covid-19 vaccination drive, ready to get vaccines from Pune if needed
The BMC said it is all prepared to carry put the Covid-19 vaccination drive scheduled to tale place on Saturday. Officials said that around 50 cold chain vehicles have been kept ready to carry the vaccine from the Serum Institute in Pune.

The BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) said that the civic body is all geared up to carry out the Covid-19 vaccination drive as and when they will receive the blueprint from the Centre.

India is all set to undergo one-of-a-kind massive dry run today ahead of the much-anticipated vaccine announcement. What started as a dry run in four states namely Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Punjab on December 28, will now be tried out countrywide starting today to ensure smooth linkages between the planning, implementation and execution of the vaccination drive as well as identify potential challenges so that they can be resolved in a timely manner.
The mock run, which will be conducted today, will witness the transfer of vaccines from special cargo planes, their unloading at the airport, transfer to and from major cold storage points to district-wise cold storage points and finally to vaccination booths in vaccine career. Kolkata, Jan 02: West Bengal is all set to go for the COVID vaccination mock drill on Saturday as a part of the Centre s decision to test across the country the preparedness of the authorities before launching the actual vaccination programme, a health department official said.

The dry run will be held at Urban Primary Health Centres at Duttabad and Madhyagram and at Amdanga Rural Hospital in North 24 Parganas district. In each centre, 25 health workers will participate in the dry run.

The dry run is being conducted by all the states and Union Territories from Saturday.
Vaccination drill is being conducted in all states/UTs today in 116 districts across 259 sites.

The Health Minister made the statement while talking to the media after reviewing the dry run of administering the COVID-19 vaccine at Maternity & Child Welfare (MCW) Centre in Daryaganj.

As India on Saturday began the dry run for COVID-19 vaccinations across states and union territories, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said the coronavirus vaccine will be provided free of cost in the national capital. On being asked about the same, Jain said, Yes, medicines and treatment are being provided for free in Delhi, anyway.
Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said one crore healthcare workers and two crore frontline workers would be given free vaccine in the first phase of the inoculation drive. In the first phase of vaccination, free vaccine will be provided across the nation to most prioritised beneficiaries that include one crore healthcare and 2 crore frontline workers, Vardhan said in a tweet.
