Police personnel to be engaged in security at the counting venues across the state have also undergone Covid-19 tests. However, in a few districts, including Kamrup (Metro), testing will continue on Saturday also. Assam health department on Wednesday issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) with clear instructions that the testing must be done on Friday in pre-notified testing centres while maintaining social distancing norms.
