He further informed that the rate of hospitalization is also lower than 12 percent which is very satisfactory in terms of status of the COVID-19 in the state.

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has started withdrawing Covid restrictions even before June 15 - after which some districts are likely to be allowed to function with little restrictions.
All state government employees, who have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, have been asked to attend office from Monday. In order to ensure smooth functioning of government offices, all employees of government of Assam who have received both the doses of Covid-19 vaccine are hereby directed to attend office from 14/06/2021 regularly by following all Covid-related protocols issued by the government, said an order issued by commissioner and secretary to the general administration department, MS Manivannan. The state government may soon withdraw Covid-19 restrictions from several districts which have shown significant decline in the number of new Covid cases. GUWAHATI: Nearly 35,000 counting officials and agents, who will be on duty on May 2, underwent mandatory Covid-19 tests in Assam on Friday following an order from the the Election Commission.
Police personnel to be engaged in security at the counting venues across the state have also undergone Covid-19 tests. However, in a few districts, including Kamrup (Metro), testing will continue on Saturday also. Assam health department on Wednesday issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) with clear instructions that the testing must be done on Friday in pre-notified testing centres while maintaining social distancing norms.

Guwahati (Assam) [India], April 24 (ANI): Amid the spike in COVID-19 cases in the country, Guwahati s State Health Department is conducting COVID tests of passengers arriving at the railway station.
Speaking to ANI, Dr Mridul Malakar who was present at the COVID testing camp said, We first check the body temperature of each passenger. Then we perform a COVID test on everyone.
Talking about the number of COVID tests conducted on an average, the doctor said, We test 700-800 people on an average every day, out of which 25-30 people test positive.
