New Delhi: A new study has found that COVID-19 pneumonia may be more deadly than regular pneumonia. According to the researchers at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, COVID-19 pneumonia spreads like many ‘wildfires’ throughout the lungs, unlike typical pneumonia that can be caused by a wide variety of bacteria, viruses and fungi.
The study authors believe that the findings may explain why COVID-19 pneumonia lasts longer and causes more harm than pneumonia caused by other causes.
